I don't know how many users this affects, so please feel free to ignore if its more trouble to debug than it's worth, but I (and one other friend) cannot load the website (at all) on mobile. Going to the main nations page (games.tabony.net/nations) or any individual game's page yields an instant "This site can't be reached - games.tabony.net unexpectedly closed the connection" message. I am on a Pixel 7a (chrome/brave), he is on an iPhone 15+ (safari). This seems to specifically happen when on mobile data (carriers are Cricket and ATT), not on wifi. Nothing like this happens on any other websites for either of us. This means we often need to delay playing even simple moves in our games for several hours until at a proper computer. (This of course wouldn't be a problem at all if we weren't borderline addicted.)
Anyway, thanks so much for all the incredible work you've put into this - just thought I'd report this and let you decide if it's worth trying to chase down or not.

That's awful! Unfortunately, I'm not sure I can debug. The best I can do is get one of you on chat, like on Discord, have you try accessing the site in a way that's not working, and see if I get any relevant logs on my end.
Some things to try:
Make sure you're specifying "https://", not "http://".
Visit the site in a "private" tab and/or clear cookies and cache from this site.

Re: Site doesn't load on mobile
The URLs are correct (and sometimes work when on wifi). I tried private tab and it didn't make a difference. Right now (at the time of submitting this post) I just tried loading (finished) game 458 multiple times, in case that gives you any reviewable logs (and then once again with the wifi enabled, if that helps). But I do agree this may well be outside what you can reasonably try to debug - I can definitely get by just playing on a laptop.

Re: Site doesn't load on mobile
I don't see anything obvious in the logs in the past few minutes. Though it would be good to do this on chat since every server open to the internet gets attacked constantly, so there are a ton of logs about failed login attempts to weed through.
I tried disabling fail2ban just now. Maybe it didn't like your IP for some reason. Please try now. Though it looks like from the logs that it's just banning ssh attempts.

No change - still works on wifi, but not on data. I'd be happy to jump on chat if you want to try and delve deeper - just tell me where/how.

There is a Discord server for the site: https://discord.gg/zKSDUxY5Ns
It's possible I'm not looking at the appropriate log. One of them doesn't have timestamps.

Just leaving a comment here for anyone else who may run across the issue: we found that the problem goes away using a VPN (possibly changing locations a time or two).
